Biggie will have a second chance at life. Thank you all for spreading the word about him. He was rescued just hours before being euthanized. We would like to thank all of you that not only support our organization, but all the other animal rescue groups out there as well. We all share a common goal. One life saved…many more to go.

FROM ACC. Brooklyn and Staten Island Care Center. “BIGGIE” is such a great dog that is down on his luck! He was brought into the shelter by the cops because he was hit by a car and laying on the side of the road. His wounds turned out to be somewhat superficial, but he was still banged up pretty badly. He is a really sweet dog. He… just isn’t happy being here. He was given a moderate by medical because he was in pain when he came in and was tense and nervous.
The staff here feels he is a good boy and he has shown no aggression or given anyone any issues at all. Please save this boy today. He weighs 60 pounds. Pamela ward: New Hope Coordinator

“URGENT“…Kimbo, who is listed below, needs to find a new home or a foster home by Sunday 1-31-2010. A fund for Kimbo’s medical expenses has been set up by Special Needs K9.

This is Kimbo, a 15 months old male (pure breed) Cane Corso in desperate need of a home. These photos were taken of Kimbo on the morning of 1-26-2010. His left eye is really bad & will need to be looked at ASAP. The bottom lid is curling inward into his eye, so he can barely open it and squints most of the time. Other than his eyes & him needing a good bath, he’s pretty much healthy. The past owner had Kimbo for 10 months and is unable to keep him due to economic issues. He listens to the 2 basic commands, sit & stay. He does tug when being walked and will need some leash training. He’s approximately 90-100lbs, and is not neutered. He’s housebroken and spends about 8 hrs a day loose in the house, during the week, alone without having any accidents. He’s very friendly with people and loves children.
He does very well with other dogs, as he is timid and has no dominance traits in him. He’s still considered a young dog for his breed & is very playful. He loves to run free, so he does need room to run and needs to be exercised every single day and also needs to be challenged. He’s currently located in the Bronx, NY. Transportation for Kimbo is available through Special Needs K9. Please contact us if you or someone you know is interested in Kimbo or is able to foster him.

Our friends at “In Our Hands Rescue” (Brooklyn, NY) got a call from an over whelmed women who BOUGHT two pet store puppies, one male and one female…Of course the inevitable happened and soon the little female had given birth to two pups.
Cairn momma is just a baby herself (about 9 months old), and her two week old puppies, Shih Tzu/Cairn mix need foster homes (two puppies).
WE HAD NO TIME TO GET PICS
Now they need a safe place to be until the puppies are old enough to find homes of their own. All puppies need socialization, love, food, warmth and security to grow happy and healthy. Are you up for the challenge?
IOHR will cover all vet expenses, including shots, spay/neuter, de-worming and micro chipping.
If you can foster, please fill out the on-line application here. http://inourhandsrescue.org/

Raspberry / Ruby:
More About RASPBERRY-URGENT!-
MISS RUBY Ruby is just a doll. We should all be as loving and forgiving as Ruby, the abuse she endured as a pup did NOT affect her LOVE FOR LIFE OR PEOPLE .. friendly would be an understatement … this girl LOVES everybody…dog friendly, POOR LITTLE RUBY has 3 strikes against her; strike one she is a slender small frame red merle pit bull mix, strike two Ruby has an undershot, strike three ruby’s right front paw is turned outward…. due to a neglected broken foot as a pup Ruby’s foot has healed with a slight flaw ( weight baring , NO physical restrictions ) not only was she neglected medical attention she was confined to a crate way to small for her along with another dog in the SAME CRATE both neglected , poor Ruby forced to live in her own feces and urine. DELILAH:
Delilah is a young SWEETHEART who is located at the BERGEN COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER in Teterboro, NJ.
She is considered to be a “Special Needs” dog because she has Vestibular disease which has caused a slight head-tilt, which we find to be her cutest feature. Also the facial paralysis on the right side of her face has been determined to be non-progressive. While at the vets being diagnosed for her facial paralysis she was also found to be lyme positive which is currently being treated. Even though she has some medical issues, it has not taken away from her manners, personality or love for humans.
While traveling back and forth to the vet office, it has been found that she absolutely loves the car as she just sits back and enjoys the ride.
In the beginning when first taken out for her walk, she tends to be strong on the leash but with some corrections she walks very nicely and her favorite part of going out is when she is given a toy to trot along with.
Just the other day after a walk and play time with Stacey, the Vice President of Special Needs K9, they both went and sat inside the kennel. Stacey found that Delilah absolutely LOVES to get massaged. Every time Stacey would stop, she would turn around and give her the sweetest look as to say “more please.” Another positive thing is that she keeps her kennel very clean.
With all these great qualities what’s not to love about this beauty.
If you or someone you know is looking for a sweetheart to adopt please give Delilah a chance!
For more info you can contact us or the shelter directly.
